Description
Stainless Steel 904L ub6 Rods are an unstabilized austenitic steel with a low carbon content and a high alloy content. Stainless steel 904L ub6 round bars have excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion. The chemical process industry makes heavy use of SS 904L ub6 Bars, particularly in the production of phosphate-based fertilisers. SS 904L Rods, which are nonmagnetic, provide excellent formability, durability, and weldability. With a composition that includes 4.5 percent molybdenum and 25 percent nickel, Alloy 904L Round Bars outperform SS 316L and SS 317L molybdenum higher steels in resistance to chloride SCC, general corrosion, and pitting.
Adding copper to Alloy 904L Bars makes them more resistant to corrosive reducing acids like sulfuric acid. Grade 904L Round Bars' resistance to corrosion in high temperature, high acid solutions is mostly governed by its nickel content. Grade 904L Bars, with their nickel content of 25%, are a viable substitute for typical stainless steels. Because of the rapid cold work hardening that occurs in Grade 904L Rods, they are more difficult to machine than those of Grades 410 and 304.
